This book draws primarily on the writings of English Kabbalists of the 17th to 19th centuries, especially those who were members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn before its dissolution. Its aim is to present a modern, practical understanding of scientific spirituality grounded in the ancient wisdom of the Kabbalah.
At the heart of this work is the limitless light of divine wisdom and understanding, often referred to as the Ein Sof, or the infinite. This Supreme Intelligence—God, the Creator of the Universe—is the source of all creation. The biblical book of Genesis describes the beginning of existence with the words “In the beginning,” reflecting the origin of the cosmos, which modern science dates to approximately 13.8 billion years ago. While this book does not attempt to reconcile scripture with science fully, it acknowledges the remarkable parallels between ancient mystical insights and contemporary understanding of the universe.
From the very beginning, polarity dominates creation. Heaven and earth, light and darkness, day and night, and eventually man and woman—all reflect this fundamental law. The use of the word “We” by the Creator suggests that creation was not the product of a single entity but an interplay of complementary forces.
